Pre-Surgery Physical Therapy

It’s a great idea to get a head start pre-surgery. It’ll not only take you through your recovery post op, but it will also allow you to more easily return to being independent.

If you need surgery, your doctor may advise you to see a physical therapist beforehand to do strengthening and range-of-motion exercises to help you recover more quickly after surgery has been performed. This is called “pre-hab”.

Evidence shows that when pre-hab is performed, even one or two sessions, it can dramatically improve the recovery from surgery.
